The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) declared Aqua Financial Services Ltd in default in March 2024.

The firm, which was formerly known as Aqua IFA Ltd, stopped being authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in September 2018.

According to the Companies House website, Aqua Financial Services was dissolved in January 2023.

The FSCS told FT Adviser it had received six claims against the firm, which are pension advice and SIPP related.

So far four claims have been rejected and one has been upheld.

The FSCS says the firm is also one of the companies associated with claims regarding the British Steel Pension Scheme.

Aqua Financial Services Ltd is no longer trading and the FSCS has declared it as failed (in default). This means that eligible claims will now be processed by the FSCS.

The FSCS has limits to the amount of compensation it can award, depending on when and how you were mis-sold. The current maximum is £85k per person per firm.
