FSCS claims against BlueSky Wealth Management Ltd

The FSCS is still considering customer claims against BlueSky Wealth Management Ltd. It says these will be considered on a case-by-case basis, to determine if they are eligible for compensation under its rules.

The FSCS also named BlueSky Wealth Management Ltd as another firm associated with claims regarding the British Steel Pension Scheme.

In 2017 thousands of BSPS members were given advice to transfer out of their defined benefit pension into a Personal Pension Plan or a Self-Invested Personal Pension.

However, the advice that most members were given may not have been suitable for them as a transfer into a private pension arrangement, would mean they’d have lost the benefits they’d already built up in the British Steel Pension Scheme. And it may not have been realistic to achieve the same level of benefits from the new pension plan.
