HDIFA stopped being an authorised Appointed Representative in 2018 and the firm was dissolved in January 2021.

Why have people complained about Meyado Private Wealth Management?

During its time as an Appointed Representative,  HDIFA advised the 13 complainants to transfer from their DB schemes to Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs). And to invest in unregulated investment schemes and illiquid assets which include overseas plots of farmland, overseas property investments and carbon credits.

The Financial Ombudsman Service found these investments to be unsuitable for almost all of the complainants.

As the principal firm, Meyado Private Wealth Management London as are responsible for the regulated activities of their Appointed Representatives.

Can I still complain now Meyado Private Wealth Management is in default?

Yes you can make a claim against Meyado Private Wealth Management but it will be processed by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

When the FSCS declares a firm or adviser in default it means it has established there are claims that are eligible under its rules.

And that the firm/adviser is unlikely or unable to pay the compensation in relation to these claims.

The FSCS has limits to how much compensation it can award, depending on when and how you were mis-sold.

The FSCS told reporters it has paid almost £1m in compensation so far in claims regarding Meyado Private Wealth Management London.

Most of the claims related to pension transfers, while several were about other investments or pension advice.
