Managed Funds / Managed Portfolio

What are Managed Funds / Managed Portfolio’s ?

Managed Funds or Managed Portfolios are a collection of investments which are overseen by a Fund Manager and tailored to you.

The Fund Manager is responsible for ensuring the portfolio stays in line with any changes to your circumstances and using the most tax efficient ways of investing. They should choose investments which are the right level of risk and are in harmony with your financial intentions.

Mis-sold Managed Funds / Portfolio

You may have been mis-sold your Managed Funds or Portfolio if at the point of sale, the adviser didn’t consider:

  • Your personal circumstances such as age and health
  • Your financial goals such as what are you wanting to achieve?
  • Your attitude to risk. Are you a cautious investor? Can you afford any potential losses?
  • Your understanding of the product – do you know how it works, what the risks are and what charges are involved?

Also, if the advice regarding the investments was misleading or if the fund manager has acted negligently in managing your portfolio, this may also be mis-selling.
