Martin Clews Los Pandos

Martin Clews Los Pandos is another high-risk investment that’s been mis-sold to people, quite often, as part of their SIPP.

Los Pandos was promoted as a sustainable investment with generous returns for investors.  Involving 830 hectares of land located between Alicante and Valencia which included a vineyard. There were also plans to develop the rest of the land into an Eco-village with leisure facilities and other “Nodes of Interest” It was based in Spain and the directors of the project were Mike Clews and Eduardo Martin.

However, the investment hit problems and people have not seen the returns they were promised.

High risk investments

This type of investment is not authorised by the FCA which also means there’s no protection or access to compensation schemes such as the FOS or FSCS should things go wrong.

It’s also high-risk and illiquid and usually considered a suitable investment choice for investors classed as high net worth or sophisticated. Basically, someone with knowledge, experience and money they can afford to lose should the value go down.

However, many people who weren’t suitable ended up invested in Los Pandos as part of their SIPP.

How does investment mis-selling happen?

A lot of investment mis-selling happens as a result of unsuitable pension advice or failings in due diligence on the part of the SIPP provider regarding the investment.

In many mis-selling cases the story begins with an Introducer company using techniques like “Free Pension Reviews” as a cover to promote high-risk investments.

They can do this because they are not regulated and don’t have to worry about breaking the rules which prohibits this kind of investment being marketed to just anyone.

They then pass the client on to an adviser or SIPP provider. Most are paid commission by the investment company.

SIPP Providers connected to Martin Clews Los Pandos

Stadia Trustees were one SIPP provider who had Los Pandos in their SIPPs. Others include The Lifetime SIPP Co and Guardian (GPC). All of these providers are now in default with the FSCS.

A thoroughly positive result and experience. In all honesty I didn't have much hope of any success following a truly dodgy pension investment. I spent years angry at myself then decided to let these guys have a go on my behalf. It took hardy any effort on my part and they kept me fully informed, then out of the blue I got a call saying they have won all my pension back plus more and within days it hit my account. Thrilled with their effort and professionalism. I dealt with a few different staff and all were informative, polite and helpful. I great end to a terrible situation. 100% genuine review and I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you.

I was approached by Pension Claim Consulting after the company that was handle ing my SIPP had been investigated by the Financial Ombudsmen and informed me i had a case, with this information given to me i agreed to let them represent me in trying to reclaim my investment. All through the process i was informed of every step and on a regular basis even though it took many months the outcome was successful and i was reimbursed fully. This is a fantastic company to work with and dedicated staff who know their business. Many Thanks. Mike Dixon.
